New Intellectual Property Licenses for Custom Library Parts

ARCHICAD 23 introduces three new Intellectual Property Licenses for GDL elements. This expands the possibilities for reusing and sharing customized library parts.

New license types (in addition to existing types):

Attribution 4.0: An element with this license can be further shared (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapted (remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially)

Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0: An element with this license can be further shared (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapted (remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially), but the contributions must be distributed under the same license as the original.

Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0: This is a newer version of the Attribution-NoDerivatives 3.0 license.

Assign the license when you create a new library part or customize and save an existing one.

Apart from these expanded licensing possibilities, ARCHICAD 23 standard library elements and macros are now distributed with the Attribution 4.0 license (rather than the more restrictive Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0, as in previous AC versions). This enables the reuse of all these elements and macros: anyone in the ARCHICAD community can create new elements using the existing scripts for any purpose, even a commercial purpose.
