Compare 3D Models

Use Model Compare to identify and visualize changes in two versions of a 3D model - not just changes in element geometry, but also visual representation and properties.

Multiple Model Compare processes can be run simultaneously in the background, even if they involve large and complex projects, while the user works uninterrupted on the current model. The Model Compare tab provides feedback on the process and its completion.

Compare Current Model with External Model

Model Compare enables the user to visualize changes between any two timestamps of the following 3D models:

The currently open ARCHICAD model

Any external PLN, PLA and SAF (Structural Analytical Format) file saved locally or stored on BIMcloud

This flexibility enables the user to compare, visualize and evaluate design variants, whether created in the same model or in different files.

Compare Teamwork Model Versions

In Teamwork, Model Compare shows which changes have occurred in the project’s status before and after receiving changes from other users.

Detect Changes from Hotlink Update

Model Compare can be run directly after updating any hotlinked PLN or MOD model, to show what has changed as a result of the update.

Compare Structural Analytical Model Versions

Comparing two Structural Analytical Models in ARCHICAD shows the difference between the original analytical model generated in ARCHICAD, and the modified one reimported to ARCHICAD from a 3rd party structural analysis application.
