Offset 1D Member

Offset always occurs in one direction (one to the other): the adjusting Members will be offset to their targets; the targeted Members will remain unchanged.

In this example: the 1D Member in the left Beam is offset, so that it now connects to the other Member.

Connecting Beams: Before and After Offset Adjustment

For each Offset adjuster, you can set a maximum allowed offset distance (“Max. offset”). This distance is measured between unadjusted 1D Members and/or unadjusted 2D Member planes.

Offset only in Global Z Direction

Check this if the 1D Member should only be offset in the global Z direction. Offsets in other directions will not be applied.

Find edge of 2D Member

Check this to offset a 1D Member to the nearest edge of the target 2D Member (not the nearest point) - provided that the target edge is still within the “Max. offset” range.

Note: If you also activate “Offset only in Global Z Direction”, the “Find edge” option is limited to the Z direction.
