Changes from External Files

When placing an external Drawing (via an ARCHICAD view/Layout) or a Hotlinked Module in your model, the arriving files may include Change data.

Changes in the Hotlinked file or external view are placed into the Host file and added to the host file’s Change Manager. However, note the following:

Such external Changes are shown with a lock icon and their details cannot be edited

Archived Changes in a Hotlinked file are not added to the host project

Changes in external Drawings are added to the host project only if they are visible on the Layout

If the Change in the imported item has the same Change Number as a Change in the host file, they are combined as entries in the Change Manager.

When a Transmittal Set is closed, local copies of the imported Changes are created. From this point on, they are preserved in the project history.
