MEP Modeler Enhancements

Changes in Predefined Pipe Sizes

At MEP Preferences, use the Predefined Sizes dialog to define a default bend radius for each size. Newly created bends will be created correctly - no remodeling needed.

Another improvement: the description you add here will be visible in the MEP Routing palette. This is particularly useful for copper and plastic pipes, whose diameters can be described in different ways. Add one diameter in the size column, and the other in the description column.

All these data can be exported into xml files, so you can use different Predefined Sizes for modeling different systems.

Connection improvements

Connections between ducts/pipes/cable carriers now can be created easily by moving one duct into another. Then you can easily define connection type (Tee, Take-off, Wye).

Connections between ducts/pipes/cable carriers at different elevations are now created automatically with 90° bends. This feature is useful when connecting branch pipes to main pipes on the corridors.

Flexible duct overhaul

Flexible ducts make systems less rigid and provide connection possibilities where traditional ducts would not. This overhaul focuses on connection freedom. Creating a flexible duct via the MEP Routing window is an easy and straightforward task: quickly create a flexible duct of any shape and size at any duct ending. The necessary transitions are automatically placed.

Additional distribution library elements

Four new, highly customizable distribution objects can be downloaded from BIMcomponents. These objects make modeling even more intuitive and can be used together with other MEP library elements:

1.Multifunctional Tee Duct

2.Customizable Bend

3.Bypass Pipe

4.Wye Branch Pipe
