Edit Mode for Multi-Segment Columns

For a multi-segment Column, use Edit mode to edit each segment separately. Edit mode is ideal for fine-tuning segment geometry graphically.

Enter Edit Mode

Select a multi-segment Column in any model view, then do one of the following:

Click the Edit button which appears.

Use Design > Enter Column Edit Mode.

Using Edit Mode

In Edit mode, the regular ARCHICAD toolbox is replaced by just selection tools and a display palette.

Use Environment toggle in the display palette to show/hide the rest of the building model (i.e. everything apart from the selected Column). In Edit mode, you cannot edit the rest of the model.

From the display palette, the full Column Settings dialog is available.

From the Info Box, you can open a limited, segment-specific Settings dialog.

For example, edit the Profile Modifiers of a profiled Column segment:

Exit Edit Mode

Do one of the following:

Click Esc

Click Exit Edit Mode from the display palette.

Use Design > Exit Column Edit Mode

Click Column Settings from the display palette to access the settings dialog for the selected segment.

See Define Column/Segment Structure.
