When you start ARCHICAD, the program automatically checks to see if you have a license available.
If you do not have a license available, the Select License Type Dialog Box appears.

If you have a license available, the Start ARCHICAD Dialog Box appears.
In the top section, “What would you like to do?”, choose one of the following:
Creates a new blank project in ARCHICAD.
If you choose this option, the “Set up Project Settings” section below offers two choices for the new Project’s settings.
Click the pop-up to choose a template.
The list includes the default template shipped with the current version of ARCHICAD, and any other templates saved to your Templates folder.
Or select Browse Template to choose a template file from any other location.

Continue working with all the project-specific options, and a few general preferences, that were in effect when you last quit ARCHICAD.
Browse for an existing project:
Solo Project
Click Browse to bring up a file directory dialog box.
Teamwork Project
Click Browse to bring up the Open/Join Teamwork Project dialog.

To open a Teamwork file from ARCHICAD 12 or earlier: you must first convert the project.

Select a recent project from the list below and click Open.
Note: Another way to open a recent project is by selecting from the list at the bottom of the File > Open submenu.
Use this option to choose a profile to use as the Work Environment for the project you are creating or opening.
•Last Profile Used: This option will apply the profile that was in effect when you last closed ARCHICAD, including any unnamed Custom schemes and undefined schemes.
•Default Profile: This is either the factory-shipped default profile, or else the profile you have manually set to be the default using the controls of the Work Environment Dialog Box.

Optionally sign in using your GRAPHISOFT ID (GSID).
If you don’t have a GSID, click “Sign In” and follow the prompts to sign up and create one.
GSID sign-in is required to publish a BIMx Hyper-model to the BIMx Model Transfer Site, and for managing your GRAPHISOFT licenses using License Manager.
You do not need to sign in to use ARCHICAD, but once you sign in, you remain signed in.
You can also sign in or out later at any time from the ARCHICAD Help menu, the ARCHICAD Start screen, or by right-clicking GRAPHISOFT ID in the Status Bar.
Once signed in, use the GRAPHISOFT ID: [your name] command from the Help menu to review your GS profile in your browser.
Do not Display this Dialog Next Time
Optionally disable the Start ARCHICAD dialog.
To enable it again, use the File > New & Reset All command.
