ARCHICAD Beams are horizontal or inclined construction elements with vertical end faces. Basic beams have a rectangular cross-section, but you can also use a Complex Profile.
Horizontal beams can be straight or curved. Like other construction elements, a Beam’s essential structure derives from its Building Material, defined in Beam Tool Settings.

Example 2: Stretch Beams to Columns
To illustrate this adjuster type, let’s use a common steel structure composed of Columns, Beams and diagonal bracing:
We see that the Beams’ 1D Members are not connected to the Columns: there is no continuity, which is necessary for structural analysis.
The solution is ...

Example 1: Offset Beams to Slabs
Turning the Structural Analytical Model on, we see that the Beams’ 1D Members (axes) are not connected to the Slab: there is no continuity, which is necessary for structural analysis.
The solution is to generate a rule that offsets the Beam axes to the Slab.
