Rise/drop unit

Applies to Routing segments placed at an angle: the angle unit (such as degree or mm/meter) of the slope.

Segment Length Limits (Duct, Pipe, Cable Carrier)

During Routing, drag and click any distance to place a series of straight MEP elements. The placed elements will automatically be divided into segments of the length defined here.

Standard Bend Angles

While using MEP Routing in the Floor Plan window: Guide Lines will appear to assist you (provided that Guide Line display is turned on). These Guide Lines reflect the Standard Bend Angles defined here.

Click Add to add more Standard Bend Angles to the list, if needed.

Predefined Sizes

Predefined cross-section dimensions for each MEP tool type. These definitions are available when you set up a Routing operation in the Routing Palette.

See details at Predefined Bend Radius.

Element Type of MEP-Compatible Objects: Object or Equipment?

By default, MEP-compatible objects from the ARCHICAD Library are placed with the Object Tool and their element type is therefore “Object.”

Use the controls in MEP Preferences to optionally switch the element type of MEP-compatible objects.

Convert MEP Objects to Equipment

Reclassify all placed MEP-compatible Objects as Equipment type.

If you start working in a MEP environment, this conversion makes it easier to browse for MEP equipment.

Convert All Equipment to Objects

Reclassify all Equipment as Objects. Use this

if you are no longer using the MEP environment, or

to revert the Equipment type elements to Object type (if they were converted to Equipment in error)

Convert Newly Placed Objects to Equipment

If checked: the element type of MEP-compatible objects placed with the Object tool will (from now on) be classified as Equipment rather than Objects.

Use this if you are working in a MEP environment. This checkbox does not affect already placed Objects.
