Beam and Column Tool Renewal

ARCHICAD 23 represents a big step forward in design freedom for Beams and Columns. New Beam/Column features enhance the design in the areas of geometry, data management and documentation of reinforced concrete, steel, timber and composite structures.

Beams and Columns are now hierarchical elements, composed of one or more sub-elements (segments) stacked along a single axis. These segments can be rectangular, circular or custom profile, either linear extrusions or tapered.

Note: To use the advanced Beam/Column feature set introduced in ARCHICAD 23, make sure you are not using legacy intersection mode - which is typically on for projects migrated from ARCHICAD 16 and earlier. (Go to Options > Project Preferences > Legacy, and make sure that the “Use Legacy Intersection methods” checkbox is off).
