Issue

On a MAC set to Japanese language if one sets the computer Host Name to such a name <japanase characters><spaces><english characters>, then an ARCHICAD run on this client computer will not be able to join a project on a BIM server.

Cause

If a computer in the LAN has a hostname that does not comply to the requirements of a standard hostname (described in this wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostname) then and an ARCHICAD on this computer might fail to access a project on the BIM server. Currently ARCHICAD does not warn users if the Host name characters are invalid, but the join process will not be successful.

Solution

For computer hostnames use characters recommended by the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostname article.
