macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Apple released macOS 10.13 High Sierra on September 25, 2017.

GRAPHISOFT plans to maintain compatibility with ARCHICAD 20 and 21. We have found a few compatibility issues that we will address by publishing new Release Installers and Updates later this year for both ARCHICAD and BIMcloud. Before deciding on the upgrade, please check the known issues – see them in the linked articles below.


ARCHICAD compatibility by different versions

Supported versions (will be supported by compatibility updates)

  • ARCHICAD 21: Supported for all language versions.
  • ARCHICAD 21 Solo: Supported for all language versions.
  • ARCHICAD 20: Supported for all language versions.
  • ARCHICAD 20 Solo: Supported for all language versions.

Not supported but compatible versions (can be installed, but bugs and issues may occur)

  • ARCHICAD 19: Compatible for all language versions, but not supported with compatibility updates.
  • ARCHICAD 19 Solo: Compatible for all language versions, but not supported with compatibility updates.
  • ARCHICAD 18: Compatible for all language versions, but not supported with compatibility updates.
  • ARCHICAD 18 Solo: Compatible for all language versions, but not supported with compatibility updates.
  • ARCHICAD STAR(T) 2017: Compatible for all language versions, but not supported with compatibility updates.
  • ARCHICAD STAR(T) 2016: Compatible for all language versions, but not supported with compatibility updates.

Not compatible versions (can’t be installed)

  • ARCHICAD 17 and older: Not compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra
  • ARCHICAD 17 Solo and older: Not compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra
  • ARCHICAD STAR(T) 2015 and older: Not compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Known issues

ARCHICAD

Based on our preliminary tests, production work with minor glitches is possible on macOS 10.13 in ARCHICAD 20 and 21. At the same time with a new Operating System there can always be some unforeseeable issues, therefore please be cautious when proceeding with this upgrade. Before deciding on the migration, please make sure to check all the known issues below:

BIMcloud, BIM Server

GRAPHISOFT is waiting for wider market feedback on macOS 10.13 High Sierra before encouraging users to migrate their server applications to it.
