Introduction

The long-awaited browser based BIMx Web Viewer is a new feature of BIMx Model Transfer site and is compatible with all major browsers that support WebGL technology.

This viewer lets you access the full content of any uploaded BIMx Hyper-model without having to install any application, browser plug-in or download the model itself locally. You can start navigating right in your browser window.

You can activate it by pressing the Play symbol in the middle of the Hyper-model preview image.

Note: Only Hyper-models can be viewed in BIMx Web Viewer. The obsolete 3D only models are not compatible with it. See more on the differences here under the “Basics” tab: What is the difference between a legacy BIMx 3D model and a Hyper-model?

Access the Content

The content of the Hyper-model can be displayed by clicking on the button “Open Index Browser” in the upper left corner. The user interface of the Hyper-model index is like in BIMx mobile app.

You can select any 3D model or 2D layout in the index and you can view any of these by clicking on its preview image with “Click to View”.

Once you have opened an item of the index, you have various viewing options to choose from:

Have a look at the Project Info by pressing on the “i” symbol at the top in the middle:

Controls

They are available at the bottom:

“Next” and “Prev“: Move through 2D layouts by using these two buttons. From the last item of a folder in the Hyper-model index you can jump to the first item of the next folder without having to browse the folders.

“Help”: You can access some help on navigation by pressing the “?” symbol both in 2D and 3D. You can close the Help by pressing the “X” in the upper right corner. Also, you can access a detailed user guide here.

“Settings”: The “Settings” button (with a cogwheel icon) will give you access to 3D navigation settings.

“Actual Size”: this function will zoom in or out to show you the plan with 100%.

“Fit to Screen”: this function will zoom in or out to display the whole content of the layout or the 3D model.

“Launch Hyper-model in New Window”: this will open a new window in your browser.

“Toggle to Fullscreen”: this will let you view the Hyper-model in full screen mode. You can exit by pressing Esc.

Embed Hyper-model

If you have a valid ARCHICAD Software Service Agreement (SSA) you are entitled to embed your company’s Hyper-models into any website by copying the specific HTML code snippet from the “Embed Hyper-model” window and paste it into the code of your own website.

As an example we have embedded the Reconstruction of Villa Balassa Hyper-model in this page below:
