ARCHICAD 12
ARCHICAD 12 is
Windows Vista compatible. Since Windows 7 is
engineered to be compatible with Windows Vista products, you can run ARCHICAD 12 smoothly on Windows 7. However, there is a minor glitch in the install process: During the install process the following error message appears:
Cause: VCRedist_x86.exe which installs Visual C++ runtime components to your computer fails to start
Solution: Hit OK to continue installation. ARCHICAD will be installed successfully. It is possible that the necessary system components are already available on your system, and ARCHICAD will run without any further preparation. If ARCHICAD fails to start, please download and install the following components:
-
-
- vcredist_x86.exe - Install this, if you have either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 operating system
- vcredist_x64.exe - Also install this component, if you are on 64-bit Windows 7
On 64-bit Windows 7 you need to install both components!

Known issues
Autosave speed problems
Some users report issues with autosave speed. We have found that Windows 7's file indexing system (and also some virus protection software) is sometimes responsible for this. Try disabling indexing for ARCHICAD's autosave folder. To do that:
-
-
- go to Control Panel
- select Indexing Options
- click Modify
- Browse for [System Drive]/users/[your username] and
- Uncheck the Checkbox for the Graphisoft folder
