Key Upgrade Problem on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and 10.6 Snow Leopard

You can read more about the upgrade process and how to troubleshoot other upgrade site related problems on our Remote Key Upgrade page.

Issue

Upgrade.graphisoft.com shows an error message and 'Inactive Plug-in' text appears on the upper left corner of the site.

Cause

Apple has disabled the automatic execution of Java applets with its Java for OS X 2012-003 software update on Lion and Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 9 update on Snow Leopard.

Solution

You have to enable Java plug-in because it is necessary for our site to upgrade your key. This can be done either from the browser or from the Java Preferences.

In the browser:

  • Close the Message
  • Click onto the Inactive Plug-in text
  • Enable the Java plug-in
  • Quit the browser and restart it

In Java Preferences:

  • Quit the browser
  • Open Java Preferences from Applications/Utilities/
  • Tick 'Enable applet plug-in and Web Start applications'
  • Close Java Preferences

Visiting upgrade.graphisoft.com again a pop-up window may appear telling 'An applet from "upgrade.graphisoft.com" is requesting access to your computer'. Please allow each one of them.

{i} Note: OS X may disable the Java plug-in from time to time even if you have enabled it once, therefore you might need to enable it before each time you would like to upgrade your key.
