Backups

Use the controls on this panel to schedule, create and manage project backups.
Backup Schedule Section

Required permissions to modify schedule:

Simplified management: Project or Server administrator
•
Detailed management: Modify details for the selected item
Backups Section
Create Backup.
Use this command to create a manual backup of the currently selected project. From the Create pop-up, choose the type of backup you want:

A BIMProject backup starts immediately as a background job, and you will receive a notification after it completes. (See Background Jobs.) The new backup is listed in the Backups list (as well as on the Activities panel).

For a PLN Project backup: The process is the same as for an automatically scheduled PLN backup. All clients are informed (via an icon in the Teamwork Palette) that a backup is pending. The backup will be created when a client clicks Create backup during a Send and Receive.
Choose a name for the backup file. If a backup of the chosen type is already in progress or pending, you cannot create another one until the first one is complete. Select one or more backup(s) from the list of existing backups to access the following functions:
Download Backup File
Click Download, then browse for the file destination.
Delete Backup
Click to delete the selected backup file. If the selected file is a pending PLN Backup, it is deleted from the list, and the backup will not take place.
Keep Backup
Available only if the selected file is an automatic backup. Click Keep to retain this automatic backup even after it would otherwise be scheduled to be deleted.
After you click Keep, the automatic backup becomes a Manual Backup, with an editable Name, and will henceforth be listed as a Manual Backup.
Rollback
Available only if the selected file is a BIMProject backup.
Use Rollback to either replace the current selected project version with the backup file or to create a new project.
Click Rollback, then choose an option:

Overwrite this Project: The selected BIM Project backup copy will overwrite and replace the current project.
As a result, all users are notified of a “Terminated Session”: they must re-join the new version of the project. (Users must discard any unsent changes, or save the version they currently have as a solo project, but they can no longer send any unsent modifications to a project that has been overwritten.)

Create New Project from Backup: The selected BIM Project backup file will be created as a new, separate project on the server.
